Testimonials

Hi Julie and Paul,

Thank you so much for sharing your house with us. The location was great. We've been visiting the Cape for 18 years staying in Orleans, Brewster and Chatham, but never Harwich. We really loved the Harwich beaches and restaurants in Harwichport. Of course we made a point of having ice cream every day, trying a different shop each time! We rented a bike for my daughter and she was able to take advantage of the bike trail so close to the house. The dog was fine once she acclimated. Someone told us about a great trail off Chatham Rd and we were able to take some nice walks with her early in the morning. In all, it was a great week.

Thanks again,
Helayne

Hi, Julie and Paul!

I just wanted to thank you for letting us use your 'cottage'. Your home is really beautiful and is immaculate. We really enjoyed our stay and had a great time. You have certainly thought of everything anyone could possibly need while still keeping everything clean and uncluttered. (I watched one of the DVDs you had in the basement--The Holiday--and I really enjoyed it.) You were a pleasure to work with, too, always retuning my emails promptly and sending my security deposit back so quickly! I would love to be able to return someday, and have mentioned your home to some of my friends. I thank you again for everything and hope to be in touch with you in the not too distant future!

Summer 2011

Julie & Paul,

We really enjoyed our stay at your house last week. It's close proximity to the rail trail and lakes proved to be very attractive. I ran the trail each morning, and my daughter and I biked daily, got up to 20 mile rides by Friday. Donna walked the dog on it each morning. My sons put their boat in Hinkley's and Long Pond and we also kayaked in Hinkley's several times. We did a whale watch out of Barnstable on Monday, went to Nauset Beach in Orleans on Wednesday (water was a freezing 57 degrees) and seals appeared in the water, which was a warning sign for sharks, and indeed I read on Friday that they closed it on Thursday when two great white sharks were spotted on the edge of the swimming area. We also went to Red River Beach in Harwichport three afternoons, which we really liked - water was 73 degrees and calm surf.

We figured out that this was our 9th visit to the Cape in our thirty years of marriage and was certainly the best visit that we have had. We had been searching for a new "vacation model" as our children have become young adults...with our daughter working as a physical therapist and my sons both in college, they are often like ships passing in the wind, with us and with each other, and this vacation allowed us to bring everybody together where we would focus on the family, yet having two cars and all of our recreational toys and the dog with us, it gave everybody the freedom to do their own thing in the mornings, while coming together in the afternoons and evenings for dinner and other activities.

The dog did beautifully, both while traveling to and from the Cape, and while staying with us. While she has free run of the first floor of our house at home (we don't let her upstairs to the bedrooms), she adapted very well to the crate, where we confined her at night and also while we were away from the house during the day. I was worried that we might have some woofs during the night, being in a strange place and hearing strange sounds, but she was perfect.

So the vacation was a huge success. I texted Lynn Friday night that we would be out by 9 on Saturday, so she could get an early start with her cleaning and we were in fact out by 8:45, which allowed us to fly right up Rt 6 to the Sagamore Bridge with no slowdowns. And in seeing the horrible traffic on I-95 in CT and the approaches to the Cape Bridges on Saturday morning on our drive home, it was certainly a wise decision NOT to arrive on the Cape on the prior Saturday afternoon, waiting until Sat night and Sunday morning to make the drives. both ends of the trip were smooth sailing.

I hope that your other renters have had a vacation as enjoyable as our's last week.

Jack Jurkowski

Julie and Paul,

Well, I've finally unpacked, and wanted to make sure I dropped you a thank you note for allowing us to rent your cottage last week. It was just too cute and BY FAR the best maintained rental we've all stayed in during our many years visiting the cape. Actually, I'm re-doing my 2nd bathroom and made sure to have my husband take some pictures of the great decorating ideas in the cottage! It was obvious that an artist with a good eye for color decorated.

Anyway, thank you again - I hope you found that we left the cottage in as great a shape as we found it and if we decide to visit the cape again next summer, we would be thrilled to be allowed to rent your cottage again.
